In the
first part of the talk we will address the following question: How should
we store data in order to effectively cope with non-uniform demand for
data? How many copies of popular data objects do we need? The newest revision of the NFS standard includes Parallel NFS (pNFS), a execution of file sharing that multiplies transfer rates by orders of magnitude.

NFS is pretty old file used sharing technology for UNIX operating system and storage systems. However, it suffers from performance issues. NFSv4 can address the data files access issues by adding the parallel NFS (pNFS) that is a method that introduces a "Data Access Parallelism". It result is extreme fast data file sharing for clusters and higher availability configurations.

In addition to pNFS, NFSversion4.1 provides the next "features":
- Sessions
- Directory Delegation and Notifications
- Multi-server Namespace ACL,SACL,DACL
- Retention Attributions
- SECINFO_NO_NAME.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2153432220209019364.post-62037041170250040202008-11-09T07:49:00.000-08:002008-11-09T07:54:39.284-08:00Asus N10J-A2 Netbook PresentationAsus N10J-A2 Netbook

Asus N10J-A2 Netbook Specs:

Processor: Intel's Atom 1.60GHz

OS: Microsoft's Vista Business edition

HD: 320GB hard drive

802.11 n Wireless Networking

NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

RAM: 2GB DDR II

Express Gate

1.3 MP Integrated Webcam

Fingerprint Reader

Altec Lansing Speakers

Express Card Slot/34

USB 2.0 Port

Gigabit Ethernet Ports

Bluetooth Wireless Technology

HDMI Port

6 Cell Lithium-ion Battery

Asus Bag included

10.2-inch WSVGA Display

1024 x 600 Resolution

Asus N10J-A2 Netbook Presentation Video:

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
